AN ALERT TO DEBIT CARD HOLDERS
With debit card fraud ever on the increase, merchants and financial institutions are continually seeking ways to protect YOU - our customers - from monetary loss resulting from the unauthorized use of YOUR debit card.
With greater and greater frequency, one of the things that you might encounter when presenting your debit card as a method of payment, is that the Merchant MAY require you to use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) before they will process your payment for goods or services being purchased.
Wilson & Muir Bank & Trust Co. highly encourages you to be aware of what your PIN is, so when asked, you can readily enter that number at the check-out keypad. If you don’t know what your current PIN is, contact your financial institution for assistance in establishing a new one. For your further protection, DO NOT SHARE your PIN with anyone. It should only be entered electronically on the keypad at time of checkout.
